We believe families and individuals should have access to professional therapy services at a reasonable cost. That is why we strive to keep our costs as low as possible. Self-Pay clients will find that we offer low competitive rates for our counseling services.

Our Team
Josie Mueller, MA, LMFT, LPC, CART
Josie Mueller is the president, owner and therapist of Texas Family Solutions. For over 15 years, she has been providing quality counseling services for the greater Brazosport community. Josie envisioned creating an agency that would meet the counseling needs of the entire greater Brazosport Community, including the Spanish speaking sector. She is passionate about working with blended families and with individuals searching for meaning and direction in their lives.
Danny Edwards , MA, LMFT, LPC
Danny is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 20 years of experience. Danny received his Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clearlake. His goal is to help children, adolescents, adults (especially veterans), and families who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, whether due to a current crisis or a previous trauma.

Alyssa Martinez MS, LPC-A
Supervised by Rhonda West MA, LPC-S
Alyssa received her Master's of Science in Family and Consumer Science from Baylor University. She also received her Master's of Science in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She has many years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. She has been with TFS working with individuals of all ages, and couples, and families since September 2021. She continues to pursue her passion for helping individuals, families and couples.

Alexandrea Strnadel, M.Ed., LPC

Alexandrea is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor with Texas Family Solutions. Alexandrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University in the spring of 2020. After graduation, she dedicated her degree to working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as a behavioral technician. In this role, Alexandrea was able to aid in developing the social and emotional skills necessary for these kiddos. Following this role, Alexandrea worked towards and received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Lamar University. Her education and experiences have equipped her to continue working closely with kids, teens, families, and couples with various needs and concerns.
Alexandrea believes in the power of a warm, trusting, and professional partnership. She understands everyone is unique in their background, experiences, personalities, strengths, weaknesses, and life journey. Through therapeutic collaboration, she works closely to assist her clients in developing goals that promote emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual growth and wellness.
Depending on the client and their needs, Alexandrea incorporates various techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused CBT. Alexandrea is committed to providing a safe and authentic environment for individuals, families, and couples as they journey toward healing.

Matthew Furman MS, LPC-A

Matthew Furman is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life challenges without judgment. With a deep belief in the power of connection and personal growth, Matthew works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, navigate difficult experiences, and move toward healing and meaningful change.

Drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered techniques, Matthew tailors his counseling style to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. Melodie Bond MA, LPC

Melodie received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Teaching from Sam Houston State University in 1991. In 2002, Melodie became certified in Special Education. She has worked in education for over 20 years working with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3-25 that struggles with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Intellectual Disabilities, and a myriad of other disabilities.

Melodie received her Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in 2015. Melodie has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults. Melodie has counseling experience and training in working with individuals that have endured traumatic events in their lives using TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Melodie’s therapeutic approach focuses on the use of CBT, DBT, and REBT. Melodie believes that every person has to ability to develop the skills and habits necessary to overcome the challenges in our lives in order to grow and find happiness.

Shawna Spears Intern

​Shawna Spears, a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) graduate student with Houston Christian University, approaches her work with a deep understanding of both family and social dynamics, informed by her experiences as a wife, mother in a blended family, and an Air Force veteran. Shawna has a profound respect and appreciation for the diverse cultural backgrounds and varied life stages of all her clients and is dedicated to learning from their personal experiences to provide effective support.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in the conviction that family systems exert a powerful influence on who we become. Guided by her faith, Shawna is dedicated to helping clients identify their strengths and ignite their intrinsic motivation for change. She is passionate about working with individuals across the lifespan, utilizing attachment theory to understand their developmental journeys. Additionally, Shawna has a strong interest in supporting the unique needs of married and premarital couples.

Shawna believes in a collaborative therapeutic process, where she works alongside clients to provide practical tools and insights. She also values the supportive environment of group therapy as this is a way for clients to connect with others who are also going through difficult situations. Shawna is committed to using her knowledge and personal experiences to help individuals and families navigate challenges and build more satisfying lives.

Lesly Padilla Intern

Lesly Padilla is attending Houston Christian University, she is a graduate student pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Lesly has experience in social services, and ABA therapy. Lesly is learning to specialize in multiple mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and many more.

Lesly hopes to help as many individuals as she can, she provides services for adults, teens, and children of all ages. Lesly uses cognitive behavioral therapy and action orientated approaches to promote developmental growth. Lesly believes that therapy improves daily functioning, and that a therapeutic environment can be a fun and safe place for everyone. Lesly hopes to improve the individual's quality of life.

Scott Gunther Intern

Scott Gunther is a graduate student who is about to receive his Master's Degree in the Clinical Mental Health Program at Houston Christian University. His experience working as a Qualified Mental Health Professional helped Scott understand the importance of considering the influence of environments and systems when working with individuals and families.

Scott takes a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, and believes in the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is Scott’s belief that simply increasing awareness, and paying greater attention to our internal world is the key to understanding ourselves and ultimately overcoming our struggles. His clinical areas of focus include Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and Grief & Loss counseling.

Scott aims to offer a space where clients can feel comfortable enough to be their authentic selves and empowered enough to give voice to exactly what they think and feel. Scott believes that working alongside clients in a collaborative form is the best way to achieve therapeutic goals. He finds meaning and fulfillment in connecting with others and is passionate about the journey that comes with life, discovery, and healing. We are all in this journey together, and Scott wants to be there for you.

Sydni White Intern
Supervised by Danny Edwards MA, LMFT, LPC​
Sydni White is a wife, mother, and former collegiate athlete who grew up in an athletic community, learning resilience and perseverance from an early age. A graduate of the University of Georgia, her faith and personal experiences greatly influence her counseling approach, where she believes in the inner strength of individuals to overcome life's challenges. Sydni is certified in facilitating the Prepare/Enrich Couples Assessment and specializes in working with newly engaged and seriously dating couples, premarital counseling, sports counseling, and workplace stress, particularly for educators.
Before becoming a therapist, Sydni spent five years in education, where she discovered her passion for helping others grow and succeed. This experience naturally evolved into her counseling career, where she now focuses on creating a supportive space for clients to explore their personal and relational challenges. Her current modality includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and she is gaining education in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Sydni’s work is grounded in empathy and understanding, with a strong commitment to helping clients uncover their past experiences and recognize how those influences shape their lives today. Sydni believes that therapy is a collaborative process where she can walk alongside you to explore what’s working and what needs to change. Whether working through trauma, improving relationships, or addressing career stress, Sydni offers compassionate support, ensuring that her clients feel heard and empowered to create positive change in their lives.

Breanne Saldivar Intern

Breanne holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University. Breanne is passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges related to anxiety, social anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationships, and more. She values building meaningful connections with her clients by fostering a safe, supportive, and authentic therapeutic environment.
With a client-centered approach, Breanne works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, tailoring her therapeutic techniques to meet each individual’s unique needs and experiences. She is committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to support her clients’ mental health and overall well-being.
